The Panama Canal is one of the seven wonders of the modern world — and there's more than one way to experience it. Watch mega-ships lock through at Miraflores, ride the railway alongside the waterway, or sail through the locks yourself on a full Panama Canal transit. Every Panama Canal excursion below runs with hotel pickup and return.

One day, two experiences: the historic railway and colonial Portobelo. Available Monday–Friday, hotel pickup included.
Wild monkeys, mega-ships, a colonial fort, and the Canal's modern expansion — all in one easy-walking tour, meals included.
The Panama Canal connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans through a system of locks that lift ships more than 25 meters above sea level and back down again. Roughly 14,000 vessels transit it every year, from container ships to cruise liners — many of them visible from the Miraflores visitor center just outside Panama City.
Whether you watch it from land, ride past it by rail, or sail through it yourself, it's one of the few places in the world where you can see global shipping and engineering history up close, in a single afternoon.
It depends on how much time you have and what you want out of it. If you want to see the Canal and the city in one short trip, the Panama City & Canal Tour is the easiest option. If you want to actually sail through the locks, the Transit Experience is the real thing — just note it only runs on Saturdays.
Most of these tours run as shared group tours with a set minimum group size — contact us for private tour pricing on any of the three.
Anywhere from 5 hours (the City & Canal Tour, or the partial Transit) up to about 10 hours for the full Canal transit, or 6am–3pm for the train and Portobelo combination.
Watch it, ride past it, or sail through it — pick the Panama Canal tour that fits your trip and book online.
